JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The legislature's inquiry committee on Century Bank has scheduled a summons for the directors of Mutiara Bank (formerly Century Bank), the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS), for Wednesday. Both parties will face the customers of Century Bank who haven't been refunded for their savings in the bank.
Committee deputy chief Gayus Lumbuun stated that bringing together those three parties will be an input for the committee's decision making. "We gather them in order to avoid making the wrong decision, to give input for each other. Mutiara Bank's managing director was also in Century Bank, we will ask for clarification regarding the customer funds," stated Gayus after the hearing with the Supreme Audit Agency Tuesday evening, at the House of Rep. building, Jakarta.
After the hearing with those three parties, for the afternoon the committee has also summoned representatives from a number of state-owned enterprises that kept their funds in Century Bank. Some committee members question why some state-owned enterprises kept their money in a small bank like Century. (Inggried Dwi Wedhaswary/C17-09)
