Indonesia to Price Samurai Bonds Thursday

Kompas.com - 01/11/2010, 13:44 WIB

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian government will price its second offering of yen-denominated bonds Thursday, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said Monday. Martowardojo didn't provide further details.

The minister said last week the government expects to raise IDR6 trillion ($674 million) from the offering. He said the bonds will have a tenor of 10 years, similar to its previous offering last year, but that the bond yield is expected to be lower as Indonesia's credit rating has improved from last year.

Indonesia last tapped the guarantee in July 2009, when it sold $371 million in 10-year Samurai paper.  Samurai bonds are yen-denominated bonds issued in Japan by foreign borrowers.
